DIALOCK LTD (“DIALOCK”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use www.locksmithservice.ie or contact us about locksmith services, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have.

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. This policy should be read together with our terms and conditions.

Personal data we collect

Information you give us. When you complete a contact or callback form on our site, call us, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we collect the details you choose to provide. Through our website forms this is normally your name, telephone number, email address (optional on most forms), the property address or Eircode, the company or organisation name where relevant, and the description of the lock, door or security issue you write in the message field.

Information collected automatically. When you submit a website form we also record the IP address the form was sent from, your browser user agent and the page you came from. We use this only to identify and block spam and abusive submissions.

Information about your visit. Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how visitors arrive at the site. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Information about work we carry out. If you become a customer we keep records of the work requested and completed, the service address, the price agreed and payment, and any warranty or follow-up arrangements.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect special category data, and we do not take card or bank details through this website. We do not operate user accounts or logins on this site.

Why we use your data and our legal basis

• To respond to your enquiry and quote for work — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• To carry out locksmith work and support it afterwards, including warranty and return visits — performance of our contract with you.
• To keep business, accounting and insurance records — compliance with our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in managing the business.
• To protect our website and prevent fraud or abuse, including spam checks on forms — our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
• To measure and improve how the website performs — our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the site, using analytics as described below.
• To send you information about our services where you have asked for it or where you are an existing customer and the information relates to similar services — your consent, or our legitimate interest in contacting existing customers. You can opt out at any time.

Cookies and analytics

Our website sets a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary and keep the site working, for example the session cookie that supports the spam check on our forms and a preference cookie that records which version of a page to show you. Others are set by Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and help us understand how the site is used.

Our site also loads a Trustpilot review widget, and links out to WhatsApp and Google Maps. Those providers may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when their content loads or when you follow the link.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including our contact forms, from working correctly. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:

• our locksmiths and staff who need it to attend the job and complete the work;
• service providers who support our business, including our website host, our email provider and the analytics and review providers named above, acting on our instructions;
• our accountants, insurers and professional advisers where required;
• public authorities, An Garda Síochána or others where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
• a buyer or successor if the business or its assets are sold or transferred, in which case your data would be covered by this policy or an equivalent one.

Transfers outside the EEA

Our own records are held within the European Economic Area. Some of our service providers, including Google and Trustpilot, may process data outside the EEA. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for a short period so we can follow up and deal with any repeat contact, and are then deleted. Records of completed work are kept for as long as needed to honour the warranty on that work and to meet our accounting, tax and insurance obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

Security

Our website is served over an encrypted connection and we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information you would not want disclosed if an email were intercepted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
• ask us to erase your data where there is no longer a good reason for us to keep it;
• ask us to restrict how we use your data while a query about it is resolved;
• object to processing that we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, including any direct marketing;
• receive certain data in a portable, machine-readable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting processing already carried out.
